The number of lonely people in the world is very large. The loneliness of some is a result of certain traits of their character, with others it happens because of some life circumstances. In Germany 6 million middle-aged people are not married, one family out of three is getting divorced. There are incomplete families among the emigrants, too.
We carried out a survey to find out the reasons of this phenomenon. Here are some of them: the family was on the verge of falling apart at the moment of moving; the different capability of men and women to adapt to new living conditions; the sexual ignorance of partners; the possibility to have a separate apartment and to obtain social benefits independently from each other. Thus, you are independent, free and lonely.
The dictionary defines "lonely" as someone who does not have a family or close ones, and "loneliness" is the state of mind of a lonely person. Further on we see the word combination to "suffer from loneliness". When you suffer from loneliness at home, it is mitigated by relationships with your colleagues and friends, whereas you might not have all this abroad.
It is true that we are genetically disposed to communication: we willingly visit new friends and attempt to support the connections that we have formed. In the meantime, Russian TV channels and the press help you to feel not entirely devoid of your native language. However, after entertainment programs, outings and visits you return home alone. You are lucky if you are happy about it. But if you are unhappy and do not want to be lonely anymore?
In the West the most popular way to look for partner is to use a dating service. In the old times in Russia, they would come to a match-maker, who would know all the desirable girls and young men. Dating services are ready to assume the role of match-maker for you. This is what a dating service can do: you can meet people through an ad in a newspaper or Internet; or they may devise an individual program for you. There are special sections for emigrants who can find a compatriot in the country where they live. If a newspaper is regional, you have an increased chance to get a response from nearby places, which makes it more easy to establish contact.
