The belief of people, their own choice of the faith, and how deeply their faith is - all these things have a substantial influence on their self-perception. This follows from the latest research of the Barna Institute.
After examining 17 cases, researchers revealed significant differences in many spheres. For example, Christians are more inclined to be at rest and peace than other Americans. Atheists, agnostics and people belonging to non-Christian confessions worry less about morals or about the future of the nation. However, Evangelical Christians are completely different from the others.
Although the number of Evangelical Christians is much less than even that of atheists, agnostics or people, which do not belong to the christian faith, they are attacked by journalists most of all. The Barns research institute reports that lots of cartoons about them appear every day.
In spite of this public abuse the majority of Evangelical Christians have healthy self-evaluation.
Most of them are absolutely happy and undoubtedly they are the segment of people, which is satisfied by their present life. Christians, and even Christian singles practically never say that they are lonely.
Some of them feel serious obligations before other people. Christian singles more often sacrifice their time on charity or other useful activities. If they have problems in their private lives or could not find a soulmate they do not lose hope and try to find a way out by putting their energy into something else.
They appear to be very seldom under stress, while the percentage of adults experiencing stress grows among those who do not belong to the Christian faith or those who consider themselves atheists or agnostics.
